At L’Aventura we are completely obsessed about what we put in our fragrances, and use only fully vetted materials to adhere to the most stringent national (FDA) and international (IFRA) standards for labeling and safety.

L’Aventura is cruelty-free and vegan. We use a mix of natural and derivative raw materials — including essential oils, absolutes, isolated molecules, safe synthetic molecules and resins in a base of denatured alcohol.

All materials used are certified by The International Fragrance Association (IFRA), the global representative body of the fragrance industry. We trust the research of the scientists who are continually updating the data that is used to inform the safety standards, and will never use misleading language and/or marketing jargon to seed fear or create an atmosphere of doubt and mistrust where none is merited.

The FDA has finally joined the EU in requiring the presence of a fragrance allergen to be indicated in the list of ingredients when its concentration exceeds 0.001% in perfume. For consumers who have sensitivities or allergies to be informed of fragrance allergens is obviously important. Adhering to these requirements for packaging allows consumers to make informed decisions as well as encourages transparency and responsible manufacturing practices for makers.

IFRA standards have been created monitor and maintain safe levels of allergens that can occur in both synthetic and natural ingredients as a means to protect you and make sure that what you put on your skin is safe. All of our fragrances adhere to these standards, and formulated within these guidelines because your safety and health are of the utmost importance to us.
